Razorlight, 22/11/06, Arena, Vienna

First of all I want to thank Chris (link to his current band project Chris and the other Girls) for giving me his tickets for the Razorlight concert yesterday. He won them from Xbox, which presented the concert. You could only get tickets if you won them. At the entrance a woman said 1.000 tickets had been spread out, but 1.500 people were there. First I wanted to go there with Theresa, sadly she suddenly felt sick and couldn't come, so I asked Dominik. The layout and design of the tickets were simply gorgeous. Those were the days when tickets for concerts looked like that (I didn't go to concerts then – too young). It even had an imprinting. The event was at the Arena and it wasn't as Xbox-green as I suspected. We managed to get a photo from the setlist and spread it around a bit.

SetlistThe concert was really nice and fast. One song followed the other (change of the guitars). The song In the City and singer Johnny Borrell getting rid of his t-shirt were definitely the maxima of the evening.
Other songs I enjoyed:
Golden Touch
Can't stop
America (lyrics beneath)
Somewhere else (part of the encore)
I even consider buying a CD. Guess it will be difficult to find the one, which includes all the I-like-songs.

I light a cigarette
'Cause I can't get no sleep
There's nothing on the TV nothing on the radio
That means that much to me
There's nothing on the TV nothing on the radio
That I can believe in

Razorlight live

All my life
Watching America
All my life
There's panic in America
Oh Oh Oh, Oh
There's trouble in America
Oh Oh Oh, Oh
There's panic in America
Oh Oh Oh, Oh

One note on another matter: Today I started my review of the year 2006, which will also include a list of things that happend (too) often and stuff like that.

Blogging about Prepress

Today I searched for interesting blogs about prepress, print industry, etc. I couldn't find anything worth metioning here. As I read Steve Pavlina's 10 Reasons you should never get a Job the other day, it came to my mind that it may be time to experiment a bit more with blogging. As I'm attending a training about the new features in Adobe's Creative Suite 2.3, I should have enough stuff to write about. In December I will be part of an event about digital printing machines. I don't know how much I can get out of that, but it's worth a try.

Kuler from Adobe Labs

If you want to find the perfect matching colours for your new homepage or blog, try Kuler. You give it a Base Colour and you're getting four which are somewhat related to each other. Change to Complementary for example in the menu above and you're getting said. You can also add your own specific four colours. And finally: Create an account and publish your favourite combinations. Play around and enjoy (web)colour.
More details at Veerle's blog (=via).

Kuler
Above you see the complementary colours to my background colour (leftmost). As you can see I almost chose the "right" ones for the rest of my homepage. ;)

In love with Apple

Mark Morford, SF Gate Columnist fell in love with his new MacBook Pro. I am also addicted to new Apple stuff and like the pictures of unpacked and naked Macs. You can compare that feeling with Bender looking at the circuits of roboladies.
Everyday I can feel my own MacBook coming nearer. I like.

For the best parts read that (= via).

Shopping nowadays

You want to buy glasses and come back with a REALLY awesome notebook. I HAD to buy it, as I was so fustrated with the stuff (mostly clothings) you get at H&M (Clean Clothes) and such. I was obsessed by the Moleskine notebook since I first saw it. It is black and simple and nice and just IT (and not that cheap by the way but anyways). Then at one shop I saw the new Moleskine City Notebook – I just had to have it. And I bought it for London. There is the tube map, the city map, space for notes, space to order stuff you like (restaraunts, people, music, places, you name it). Even a transparent plastic sheet you can add to the city map so you don't have to write actually on the map but draw something in it. So I'm all excited about that, as you can tell, and I'm totally looking forward to actually going to London again.
Later on, as I was in the Merkur market there was that lady telling us: „Minus 10 Prrozent, heute für Frrändzz.” Just hilarous – you had to be there. So I'm soon going to meeting my classmates from the Graphische again. I hope there'll be all of them – at least almost. Have a nice weekend.
